![]() ![]() They’re both high gloss with rich pigment so saturation is really good in both. MAC Boom Boom Bloomįor The Frill Of It is the lighter version and Heart Melter is the deeper, more rosy shade. It’s easy to see that blossom – cherry in particular – is the theme for this spring time collection and the two Lip Glass shades are my favourites from what I have. I’ve never bought a tree before and so I’m absolutely astonished at how it made itself at home straight away and is giving the brightest pink blossoms you’ve ever seen. I think it’s some of the best MAC has done.Oh wow – this collection from MAC couldn’t be more perfectly timed as I’m looking out onto my garden watching my new ornamental apricot blossom tree bursting into life. I don’t have that issue with the brights, though, as they’re purr-fect.Įven if you aren’t a MAC fanatic or adherent - don’t worry, we can still be pals! - at the very least, peep the packaging. I’m wearing the shade called High-Fructease in the pics here lightly dabbed on and pressed down with a finger (I have a feeling that this lipstick would also make a great cream blush). ![]() The lighter Boom Boom Bloom lippies are way too much for me at full-tilt color, but I think they’re totally doable (and super pretty) when toned down. The lips, though? Oh man, so pink! I’m 100% in support of pink lips, but FYI, the lighter mattes, like blueish pink Wagasa Twirl and yellowish pink Hi-Fructease, are super opaque, and when I go full-on with them, I feel silly, like I did when I tried to wear all of those crazy pastel MAC Nicki Minaj lip colors… PIANO TEACHER SMIZE Lipglasses, $18.50 each Lipsticks, $19.50 each ![]() Side note: Proceed with caution using the bronze because it’s frosty enough to make a metallic robot think twice (SERIOUSLY SHIMMERY). With the cheek colors, the pink powder is more rose than pink (the darker ombre is an overspray), and the bronze has a subtle undercurrent of pink. High-Light Powder in Fleur Real ($30) High-Light Powder in Spring Bling ($30) MAC sneaks it into the eye palette as well, but it’s just a pinch of pink in the matte browns, which are so creamy soft and fun to blend, and the same goes for a few of shimmers (there’s a little glitter fallout there, BTW, but it’s not much). Well…there is a little of that happening in a few of the lipsticks and the glosses, but in the nine-pan eyeshadow palette and the cheek powders (which are technically highlighters but can double as blushes), the pink is more of whisper or suggestion. “Pink” is the theme, but don’t expect Easter egg pastels. Skin: Studio Fix Fluid in NC42 mixed with Strobe Cream in Pinklite set with MSF in Golden Tan, with a light spray of Cherry Blossom Fix+. Cheeks: Fleur Real High-Light Powder with a light dusting of Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Give Me Sun. Eyes: Eye Shadow X9: Kabuki Doll, MAC Coffee liner, Wander Beauty Mile High Club Mascara. (Extra points for the light pink metal on the inside of the lipstick tubes!) I think it looks almost like something Shu Uemura would do. The most striking thing about it - beyond all of the pink, ERMAHGOSH! - is the elegant, upscale LE white packaging, complete with pink petal cherry blossoms. *shrugs* Needless to say, I’m going through this gorgeous bottle very fast, and I am tempted to hoard a backup or two ( but I’m not going to, I swear).Ĭherry Blossom Fix+ is just one of the springy surprises in the flower-fueled MAC Boom Boom Bloom collection available now. I may or may not have enveloped my entire person in a nimbus cloud of the stuff when I got out of the shower last night. The first time you spritz the new $28 Cherry Blossom MAC Fix+ on yourself, you are strongly advised to sequester yourself somewhere where you can be obnoxious in private, because you are very likely to become so enamored with the scent (it really does smell like cherry blossoms!) that you’ll want to spray it everywhere - on your face, in your hair, all over your body, under your ‘pits (true story)… Perhaps even on the closest available toddler. And if you like wearable makeup like I do, check out the eye palette, the pink cheek powder, Tsk Tsk Lipstick and Heartmelter Lipglass. ![]() Definitely grab ye a bottle of the Cherry Blossom Fix+ if you’re already in the Fix+ fam. Quick take: This limited edition spring launch has lots of lovely wearable pinks for your eyes, cheeks and lips. ![]()
